Choose sNOw Returns For 2019/2020 at Mount Snow

Mount Snow is pleased to announce the return of its Choose sNOw program. Now in its seventh year, the program allows local students in grades 6-11 to earn a 2019/2020 Mount Snow Season Pass, while learning about substance abuse prevention and engaging in community Green-up Days.

Students earn a season pass to Mount Snow by attending two substance abuse prevention educational events, sponsored by the Deerfield Valley Community Partnership in collaboration with Mount Snow, and participating in a community Green-Up Day.

The first Choose sNOw event will be on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Grand Summit Resort Ballroom. Registration will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The program will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. This event must be attended by both student and a parent or legal guardian. The kick-off event will feature Shaun Derik. For over 10 years, Speaker and Performing Artist Shaun Derik, has dedicated his life to helping people, young and old, reconnect with their passion and go after their dreams. Through his dynamic message delivery, which is a blend of music and comedy, audience members leave Shaun's presentations feeling motivated, energized, and encouraged to take massive steps towards the achievement of their life-long goals.

The second required event will be on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the Grand Summit Resort Ballroom. This event must also be attended by both student and a parent or legal guardian. The speaker for the evening is John Underwood, the founder of the Life of an Athlete- Pure Performance-Human Performance Project. John is a former NCAA All American, International level distance runner, World Masters Champion, and was coached by legendary Bill Bowerman. John has been a crusader for drug-free sport at all levels. He is an internationally recognized human performance expert, specializing in lifestyle choices impact on mental and physical performance. John has worked extensively with Olympic and professional sport and with nearly all sport federations including the National Federation of High School Athletics, NCAA, NHL, NFL, and the NBA. He has worked for three decades with the US & International Olympic Committees and Sport Canada and is a Human Performance Consultant for Navy SEALS.

Once registered students have completed both educational events and participation in Green-Up Day, they will receive a 2019/2020 Mount Snow Season Pass valued at $700. All passes will be mailed in fall 2019.

In order to participate in the Choose sNOw program, all students MUST register in advance & pay a fee of $50. Go to www.mountsnow.com/the-mountain/choose-snow/ to register. Registration begins Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis with a limit of 250 spots. There will also be a waitlist for those who don't make the initial cut. Mount Snow will reach out to those admitted from the list on March 2, 2019.
