Mont Tremblant

Mont Tremblant is located in Québec's Laurentian region and is commonly referred to as the Disney World of Skiing. The ski resort is most known for its large and expansive pedestrian village located at the base of the mountain, featuring hotels, restaurants, shops and entertainment. The mountain itself offers 102 trails, spread over 4 sides of the mountain, making it the largest ski mountain in Quebec. Tremblant also has the second-highest vertical drop for skiing in Québec, allowing for long descents, with all levels of trails offered, including plenty of glades.

The mountain has 14 lifts, that include 7 high-speed detachable quads, and 2 gondolas, giving a quick and efficient ride back up the mountain. The Grand Manitou, the large summit chalet, offers meals and great views while taking a break.

The Mountain and the Ski Trails

The South Side is the main side of Tremblant and the first side you will typically see when approaching the mountain. Here you will find the pedestrian village at the base and the majority of the parking facilities. From the parking base, a quick 2-minute ride on the open-air Cabriolet gondola lift will whisk you to the ski base, and the main lifts. Trails on this side offer incredible views of Lac Tremblant and the Pedestrian Village below. The main beginner trail, Nansen can be found here. It is the longest trail on the mountain at 6km in length. Popular intermediate trails like Beauvallon and Alpine again provide stunning views of the region, while offering plenty of speed and excitement. In general, the South Side has trails for all skill levels but mostly towards easy and intermediate. For more advanced and expert skiers, trails like Taschereau, Kandahar and Erik Guay will definitely please thrill-seekers thanks to their sweeping terrain and plenty of fall-line pitches. The main snowpark "Adrenaline" is located underneath the Flying Mile chairlift, complete with large jumps, and a wide array of boxes, modules and rails.

The North Side is the second main access point to the mountain. It also contains parking and a base chalet, however, they are located within steps of the ski lifts, providing more direct access. Standout trails on this side include Supérieur, Expo (which is a venerable wall of moguls) and Duncan.

The Edge is the natural side of the mountain. More savage and gladded than the rest, these trails are highly enjoyed due to their variety of tree skiing and ungroomed trails available. Served by a single slow quad chairlift, you can be assured great times on these trails all day long.

The Versant Soleil is the sunny side of the mountain, features long top to bottom cruiser trails. Of particular note is the Refuge, located about ¼ the way down the Laurentienne trail. This log cabin serves light meals by a fireplace and is a cozy spot to take a break while on the mountain. Toboggan and Tapecul trails are some of the best and most enjoyable intermediates on the mountain, with amazing views along the way. The base of this area features the Casino de Mont Tremblant, as well as a few additional lodging options. The base of the Versant Soleil and Casino link to the village of the South Side by means of a gondola lift.

Unique Features

There are several unique features of Tremblant.

The first and most noticeable is the pedestrian village located at the base of the South Side. Here you will find dozens of hotels and condos, restaurants and bars, shops and boutiques of all kinds and variety. Everything is within walking distance, and so you can park when you arrive and access everything easily. To make things even better, an open-air gondola, known as the Cabriolet transports visitors quickly from the base of the village to the top. All year long, thematic events and shows take place in the many squares of the village, from music festivals to shows and competitions, there is always something to see and experience.

The Grand Manitou is the summit chalet located at the top of the mountain. It gives guests excellent views of the surrounding region and provides the perfect stop for lunch and a break from the slopes. You can also grab a meal or drink at the cafeteria and bar.

The mountain's South and North Sides are divided in two, the lower and the upper half. As a result, there are ski lifts that go from the base to the summit as well as half mountain lifts that bring you from base to mid, and mid to summit. This allows you to enjoy your favourite trails without having to return to the summit or ski all the way to the base. This is also of great benefit at the start of the season when only the upper mountain is open.
