Windham Mountain Resort Announces 19/20 Season Passes & Improvements

As one successful winter season full of upgrades begins to wind down, plans for the next are already in the works at Windham Mountain Resort. 2019/2020 Season Pass rates were announced today and pass sales will kick off with 24 hours of special pricing on Saturday, March 16, 2019. Highlights of capital improvements planned for the 2019/2020 winter season include the relocation of a high speed four person chairlift, snowmaking improvements, the widening of a trail, and the addition of a new groomer.

A range of season pass products being offered for 2019/2020 are accompanied by a long list of Passholder benefits, including discounts at Windham Mountain Resort restaurant and retail locations, the Alpine Spa, Windham Country Club, and Windham Mountain Bike Park. A great new product is the new Sunday through Friday Season Pass, which has very limited blackout dates and is priced at just $369 during the March 16th one day sale.

Lift capacity out of the base area continues to increase at Windham. C Lift, a fixed grip triple chair serving beginner and intermediate terrain on the lower half of the West Peak will be upgraded with the relocation of the high speed quad now in place as A Lift. Westside Six, a high speed six passenger lift was installed on the West Peak in advance of the 2018/2019 season. The relocation of the quad will allow for two detachable lifts to carry passengers out of the base area.

Upper & Lower Whistler, one of Windham's signature top to bottom runs, will become fully automated, meaning snowmaking can start and stop literally at the touch of a button. A new booster pump house for the East Peak will increase water pressure, and therefore, snowmaking efficiency by 35% on that terrain. Over the last five years, replacing snowmaking pipe has made a noticeable difference in efficiency. This summer, at least 10,000 feet of snowmaking pipe will be replaced in key areas across the mountain.

"Our goal is to make snow as efficiently as possible, with the lowest environmental impact. Investing in snowmaking upgrades each season continues to make our snowmaking operations more sustainable. We'll be able to make more snow in less time and open trails faster," says Chip Seamans, President and General Manager of Windham Mountain Resort.

Portions of Wildcat, a trail in the Wilderness Bowl area added in 2015, will be widened over the summer. Windham is committed to providing the best snow surface possible, and the grooming fleet is updated each season. 2019/2020 will bring the addition of a new PistenBully Park Cat. Four out of the five machines in Windham's very modern fleet will have Tier 4 compliant engines.

Construction on these projects and others will begin in April and continue throughout the summer as activities and special events abound at the Resort, Windham Mountain Bike Park, and Windham Country Club. Stay tuned for great new events coming this summer!
