Snow Reporter's Update

November 04 2019 - 06:31 am

Winter is here, snow fans. The Beast kicked off the 2019-20 ski and snowboard season Yesterday, and it was incredible. We even saw some natural flurries to make Day One all the more magical.

We'll be open to the general public on today, and daily from here on out, weather permitting. Today is also opening day for Woodward Mountain Park at Killington, with the debut of our brand new Woodward Pop Up Park on Reason. Hours are 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Ticket prices are $59 for adults, $50 for seniors and $45 for youth. The early season 2 for 1 deal we have run in the past has been replaced by more convenient online tickets—visit the Killington E-Ticket Store to purchase in advance for the best pricing.

We're expecting typical early season conditions, with skiing and riding on Rime and Reason in the North Ridge area and service from the brand new North Ridge Quad. The K-1 Express Gondola will upload until 3:00 p.m. each day, and you will need to use the Peak Walkway for access to and from the North Ridge Quad. The last run down Rime will be at 3:30 p.m., and the K-1 Express Gondola will download until everyone is down.

Terrain is suitable for intermediate and above skiers and riders. No easier terrain will be available, and early season conditions exist, please use caution. As always in the early season, you will need to travel the Peak Walkway to the skiable terrain at the start of your day, and return to the K-1 Express Gondola via the Peak Walkway at the end of your day for downloading.

Check out The Insider Blog for more details on early-season operations.

The Bike Park is now closed for the season. Thanks to everyone who came and rode with us this summer, it was another amazing season.

The K-1 Express Gondola is open for scenic rides. The Bike Park, Adventure Center, Woodward WreckTangle and Golf Course  are now closed for the season.

The new season of ski the east has started. I saw Saint-Sauveur putting out some facebook teasers today of a possible opening this week... we shall see.

Won't be long now.

Cataloochee in North Caroline was also open on Sunday! Next week is looking good around Ottawa/Gatineau for snowmaking and snow fall.

Didn't get Ikon so wasn't eligible for the Sunday opening and work is killing me this week....so it's either, hope for St-Sau opening on the weekend, or we go to Killington Friday evening and come back Saturday as Scott works Sunday. Fingers x'd for one or the other!
