With only two days left of its 2016-2017 season, Mont-Sainte-Anne shares its results and highlights of the winter. The resort will still be operating on the last weekend of April for the best of spring skiing: sun, warm temperatures, great snow conditions and a unique and festive atmosphere.

Best season over the last 3 years

Both Stoneham Mountain Resort and Mont-Sainte-Anne can declare this season the best they have had over the last three years! The main cause for these great results is an increase in the day-tickets sales, reaching 15%. Quebec region has received the largest amount of snow in the province this winter, and this context has brought a lot of day visitors and tourists from outside of the region.

Historic season opening

The first day of skiing happened only in December, but it will certainly be remembered for years to come because of the abundance of fresh powder! Mont-Sainte-Anne was able to open with 37 trails on the very first day, including most of the expert side of the mountain. It was the largest skiable terrain offered on an opening day since over 40 years, as well as the largest in the great Quebec region. The official snow accumulation for the season is around 215 inces of natural snow, which is 50 inches more than last year.

Cross-country skiing: the best season ever

Cross-country skiing is definitely getting on the map! The Mont-Sainte-Anne Cross-Country Skiing Center registers significant growth year after year, and this season has been the best of its entire history. The rise in popularity of this sport, as well as the exploits of the world champion and ambassador of the center, Alex Harvey, are amongst the main reasons for this growth. His performances and victory during the World Cup here in Quebec City have certainly inspired many young skiers in the area. It is also worth mentioning that the Mont-Sainte-Anne Cross-Country Skiing Center is the largest in the country with its 200km of skate and classic trails.
