Skiers and riders will take to the trails for one final weekend, on Saturday and Sunday to bid the ski season a fond farewell. The resort was able to extend its season into May once again this year, thanks to more than 6 feet of natural snow over the last two months of the season and consistently cold temperatures well into April. "We've been enjoying some of the best spring skiing and riding conditions in recent memory," said Noelle Tuttle, Sugarloaf's Communications Manager. Summer at Holiday Valley

Skiers and snowboarders may shed a tear when the snow melts off the ski slopes at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, NY, but with all of the summer activities and events in store, the warm and sunny months will fly by. Mount Snow today announced that the official closing date for its 2017/18 season will be Sunday, April 22, 2018, marking an end to the resort's longest season in more than a decade totaling 162 days of continuous operation. Thanks in part to over 80 inches of snowfall received during what locals have deemed "Miracle March" as well as the most expansive snowmaking operations in the resort's history, Mount Snow will enjoy ample snow coverage on the majority of its trails across three of its four mountain faces through closing. The 2017/18 season began on a high note, with Mount Snow's earliest opening in over a decade featuring the most open terrain in the East, a title the mountain held through the Thanksgiving holiday. The early opening was facilitated by the West Lake Water Project, a major snowmaking upgrade that debuted just in time for the start of the season. This critical infrastructure investment allowed Mount Snow to make snow and resurface trails during each of the six months ...
